Young Love Blooms on Ballet Stage YOU'LL be able to sense true love in the air from your seat in the stalls at the Opera House next week. For up there in the spotlight as Romeo and Juliet will be Jonathan Olliver and Desire Samaai who are actually man and wife - with eyes only for one another. Jonathan (26) and Desire (34) are the star attraction in the Northern Ballet production in which they bring the roles of the star-crossed young lovers dramatically alive. "When you and your partner care madly for one another it's easy to re-create the warmth and passion of young love," said Desire today. "I can tell Belfast it is in for a treat - we are special together as Romeo and Juliet. In fact we are Romeo and Juliet without the complications." He fell in love with Desire watching her dance as Juliet - in the arms of someone else in a performance in her native Capetown. She discovered the feeling was mutual and followed him back to England. The couple were reunited at Northern Ballet and wed at a registry office in his native Northampton. And today company manager John Duncan described the decision to pair these young marrieds as Romeo and Juliet as inspired casting. "The love shines through and they are superb on stage together," he said.
