Canada's Alex Wong was awarded the gold medal at the 32nd Lausanne Prize, one of the world's most prestigious classical dance contests, organizers said

The prize for contemporary dance was awarded to South Korea's Yi-Jee Jang.

The laureate and six other top finalists will be able to study dance at the school of their choice without having to pass auditions.

Among the finalists were three dancers from Japan, three from South Korea, two from Britain, a Canadian, an Australian, a Romanian and an American.
