The dance company consists of dancers ranging in age from eight to 17 that are selected through an intensive audition process. The dancers must have had at least five years of previous dance training in the disciplines of ballet, tap and jazz and be proficient in all three.

The company dancers will travel during the next several months to perform and compete against other dancers from around the southeast.

Heidi Knight Company Dancers have received platinum, gold and overall high score awards at regional competitions, have been awarded scholarships to national dance conventions and have been featured on WAAY-TV. The group also performs at various community events such as Panoply and Madison Street Festival. Other dancers selected for the company include girls from Huntsville, Madison and Owens Crossroads, Ala.

The company is directed by Heidi Maness Knight of Huntsville. Mrs. Knight graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in communications and a minor in dance. As a student, she performed across the country and abroad, winning many awards and studying under some of the world's most renowned teachers and choreographers.

She toured and performed in England and Wales as part of the Friendship Ambassadors program.

Knight spent four years teaching all disciplines of dance at The School of Ballet and Jazz of Tuscaloosa. There, her choreography won overall and first place awards. She recently completed the accredited Teachers Workshop at Broadway Dance Center in New York City, and this year was honored to receive the nationally acclaimed Company Dance Educator's Award. She was recognized by the Company Dance faculty for outstanding achievement as a dance educator and choreographer.
